I’m excited to say I have an official Book Trailer! It was designed by the very talented Dee Tonorio, and it looks (and sounds) great. Check it out, and let me know what you think! And if you like it, tell all your friends! 😀 I have a long way to go to catch up to the piano playing cat!

In other exciting news, Sophia and Colin sat down for their first ever interview with the intrepid Huff and Puff reporter. The interview was featured at Paranormal Haven this past Saturday, and you can still check it out here. There’s a giveaway, too, but you have to leave a comment, so we know you were there!

More good news, RAPHAEL received a 5 Alpha Howl and a terrific new review this week from Bitten by Paranormal Romance. I’ll be guest blogging there in a couple of weeks, too.

On the reading front, I updated my Books I’m Reading Now section once again (doing a very good job of keeping up this time!) I added Magic Slays (Ilona Andrews) and Kiss of Snow (Nalini Singh), two books I really looked forward to, and they didn’t disappoint.

On the writing front, DUNCAN is coming along very nicely and will be ready for his close up! I’m already searching the image files for the perfect Duncan. There are thousands, so I search while I watch TV with my husband, which drives him nuts! 😀

And speaking of DUNCAN, for those of you who follow me on Twitter, I slipped the name of Duncan’s love interest into a tweet recently. 😉

One more thing before I go, notice the Summer Fun button up above. That’s a special promotion/contest being run by Night Owl Reviews. Tons of cool prizes and some fun thrown in. It’s a scavenger hunt kind of thing. Click the button, check it out, and then come back here to look for my personal secret icon!

Okay, I have to get back to DUNCAN, but be sure and check out my book trailer, and stop by Paranormal Haven to see what Sophia and Colin are up to.

See you next week!

I trust all of you in the U.S. are having a great Memorial Day weekend. It’s the first long weekend of the summer season, even though Summer doesn’t actually begin for almost a month yet.

But while you’re enjoying your weekend with family and friends, maybe at the beach or the lake, having a barbeque or just quiet time at home … don’t forget the real reason for this holiday. And that is to remember all of those men and women who paid the ultimate price to make your enjoyable weekend possible. And while we’re remembering our honored dead, let’s not forget those who lived, but whose lives have been forever changed by the wounds they brought home with them, and those still in harm’s way around the world, and especially this year in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Take some time this weekend to remember and say thank you in your heart, if you can’t do it in person.

Okay, I’ve brought tears to my own eyes, now, so I’ll try to lighten the mood.

In the fine tradition of long weekends, my publisher, ImaJinn Books, is having a book sale. They’re offering 20% off of a $20.00 order; 30% off a $30.00 order; and 40% off $40.00 or more. The sale is on now and goes through June 1st. So, here’s your chance to stock up.

And just a reminder that Vampire Vignette #1 has one more week on its current run. After that, I can’t say when it will appear again. Vampire Vignette #2 will begin its rerun appearance next Sunday … and I will post earlier in the day this time. Sorry about last week. I do most of my work late at night and sometimes forget not everyone runs on my weird clock.

And finally, I found this while wandering around the Internet. It’s adorable animals … so cute … who are actually terrifying. The pictures are cool (and sometimes ugh) and the text is really funny. So, if your weekend’s over and you’re back to work, maybe this will lighten your day. Warning: If you play the vids, some of the sounds (actually ALL of the sounds) are pretty damn weird. Clicky-clicky.

See you next week.

THIS is a new year?

January 18, 2010

The big excitement in my life this week? … The palm trees are on the attack. You’ve all seen the pictures and film images of those tall, stately palms lining the streets of Southern California, right? They’re everywhere. Even places they shouldn’t be, quite frankly. And they propagate. Little tiny palm trees sprouting up in the middle of my azaleas. The fiends. Well, this week they clearly decided on a frontal, or er vertical, attack.

About thirty palm fronds decided to drop on my house this week. All at the same time. About 4:00 in the morning. So what, you say? Palm fronds, big, leafy things. No big deal. Hah! First of all, they’re not big, they’re HUGE! Like 9 feet long. And they’re not leafy! They’re pointed and sharp and hard like a plank of wood! Imagine thirty 9-foot 2 x 6’s dropping on your house and yard at 4:00 in the morning.

So, okay. We recovered. But the suckers are still sitting there in a big pile, because now it’s raining, which means no gardener until next week. The good news is, the ones actually ON my roof slid off because of the 50 mph winds we had. Although, at least that happened during the day.

Okay, so that’s MY new year so far.

Yeah, yeah, you say. But what about RAJMUND? And what about Book 4? I’m still waiting for word from my editor on the RAJMUND release date. But I AM hard at work on Book 4 . . . SOPHIA. Look out, men of the Vampire Council, the lady has arrived and she’s bringing her very own human hunk to sip from!

And now from the ridiculous to the even more ridiculous, I found this video series on YouTube. All I can say is . . . my vampires are definitely sexier than this guy.
Enjoy . . . Harold the Vampire

I’ve got a new interview out there this week on Sapphire Phelan’s newsletter. Here’s the link, but you’ll need to sign up for the newsletter in order to read it. Otherwise, you’ll just have to trust me when I say I was incredibly clever and intelligent! We laughed, we cried . . . ::cough::

I’ve got another interview and guest blog stint coming up at the end of the month, but I’ll wait and post that once it’s up. Don’t want to overwhelm you with my wit all at once!  😛

News on the RAJMUND front: I received word from my editor this week and should have a release date for RAJMUND within a couple weeks. I don’t know about you, but I can hardly WAIT!!

But I think I mentioned presents? I’m working on some bookmarks and autograph plates. Once I have them ready, all you have to do is send me a stamped, addressed envelope and bookmarks/autograph plates will come your way. A holiday present for my readers, since I’m hoping to have those available in time for the holidays, which are just around the corner!! Where did the year go? I’ve already started my shopping and it’s not even Thanksgiving yet. That’s just WRONG!

Okay, I’ll leave you with this video, which is just so sappy, I couldn’t resist. This might be the happiest dog I’ve ever seen. If you love animals, bring tissues.

PS Don’t forget my latest contest! Post a comment anywhere on this blog during the month of November and your name will go into the hat for a chance to name a character who occurs in both RAJMUND and the as yet unnamed Book Four!

NEW CONTEST and other news!

October 24, 2009

First, I want to call attention to my latest contest. Details are on the right below, but basically, anyone commenting on this blog between now and the end of November wins a chance to name a character who will appear in both RAJMUND and in the fourth book, whose title is still floating around my head. So, read the details and comment away.

Also, I’ve completed RAJMUND (at last!) and he’s with my critique partners. This is the longest book yet in the Vampires in America series. There’s plenty for Raphael and Cyn fans, but lots of my beautiful Rajmund, as well.

And finally a video just to make you feel good. I have no idea how the Black Eyed Peas coordinated this, but watch the video. Even if you don’t like BEP, even if you don’t like Oprah, this video will make you smile. DipDive.
