There’s a new interview with me this week at Over The Edge And I’m running a book giveaway over there, as well. Comment and leave an e-mail address, and you’ll be entered in the giveaway. Your choice of an autographed copy of either RAPHAEL or JABRIL, or if you prefer a PDF of same. I’ll also give the winner the option of choosing a future copy of RAJMUND–because I KNOW all of you have already read the first two books! Although I’ll warn you that I don’t get my author copies any earlier than the first shipments from the publisher!

I’ll be guest blogging over there on Friday, as well, but I’ll post a reminder here about that later this week.

And now, since I live in California where it was over 80 degrees on Thanksgiving Day this year (!!!), I submit to you this picture of things we really don’t need to see at the beach. (The lady in the middle is what happens when a body grows old around breast implants.)

At long last my RT Book Reviews magazine arrived and here’s their review . . .

A strong heroine, a sensual vampire and a menacing villain, evil in every sense of the word — it doesn’t get much better than this second installment in the Vampires in America series. Readers will have a tough time closing the book on this riveting story. Reynolds’ complex mythology includes eight vampire lords who control North America. A top-notch series!

Yay! And JABRIL was a Paranormal Top Pick for January, too.

Meanwhile, I should have a release date for RAJMUND in the next couple of weeks, I hope. And I’m hard at work on . . . Book 4, whose title is fixed in my head, but I want to be sure before I post it here. I will say it features our first female Vampire Lord and a hunky Navy SEAL, as well as the biggest hunk of all, Raphael, and the lovely Cynthia. And it takes place up in northern Washington state, just below the Canadian border.

I want to wish all of my U.S. readers a very Happy Thanksgiving! And now I’m off to eat some turkey of my own!

WEIRD and SORT OF CREEPY TOO: I’ve already begun my holiday shopping and completed a good part of it! Thank God (and Al Gore) for the Internet. And in the spirit of holiday giving, I give you this . . . Barbie doll? Who exactly was THIS one created for?

November 19, 2009

This is so great! JABRIL was chosen by Romantic Times Book Reviews Magazine as a Top Pick for their January issue! And the reviewer gave it 4 1/2 stars!! I haven’t seen the review yet (why don’t they send these things to authors?) but 4 1/2 STARS!!!!!! Here’s the ratings PDF, but I guess we’ll have to wait for the full review!

Yay! Definitely time for an embarrassing happy dance!

I’ve got a new interview out there this week on Sapphire Phelan’s newsletter. Here’s the link, but you’ll need to sign up for the newsletter in order to read it. Otherwise, you’ll just have to trust me when I say I was incredibly clever and intelligent! We laughed, we cried . . . ::cough::

I’ve got another interview and guest blog stint coming up at the end of the month, but I’ll wait and post that once it’s up. Don’t want to overwhelm you with my wit all at once!  😛

News on the RAJMUND front: I received word from my editor this week and should have a release date for RAJMUND within a couple weeks. I don’t know about you, but I can hardly WAIT!!

But I think I mentioned presents? I’m working on some bookmarks and autograph plates. Once I have them ready, all you have to do is send me a stamped, addressed envelope and bookmarks/autograph plates will come your way. A holiday present for my readers, since I’m hoping to have those available in time for the holidays, which are just around the corner!! Where did the year go? I’ve already started my shopping and it’s not even Thanksgiving yet. That’s just WRONG!

Okay, I’ll leave you with this video, which is just so sappy, I couldn’t resist. This might be the happiest dog I’ve ever seen. If you love animals, bring tissues.

PS Don’t forget my latest contest! Post a comment anywhere on this blog during the month of November and your name will go into the hat for a chance to name a character who occurs in both RAJMUND and the as yet unnamed Book Four!

November 9, 2009

Well, the most exciting thing that happened to me this week was . . . I sent the RAJMUND manuscript off to my publisher! Yay! My critique partners both had good things to say about it, so I feel good.

And now I’m thinking about book 4. My head was empty for a while, but the scenes are popping in regularly now and the outline is shaping up. I can already feel the pressure building in my brain to start writing again, so it won’t be long now before book 4 starts coming to life.

In the meantime, I’ve been catching up with all the stuff I let go. I’ve got closets to clean out and bookshelves to organize, and the holidays are coming, which means the shopping must begin! Gotta work off that turkey somehow!

AMAZING VIDEO OF THE DAY: This is footage of an actual elephant birth! It’s graphic and the camera never cuts away, so if you’re faint of heart, keep your eyes closed!! But it’s totally fascinating and a little heart wrenching too. Here ya go, and don’t say I didn’t warn you!
